The Topic:
Increasing the Airflow to the engine .

The Problem:

The engine needs air, a lot of air. One upgrade is too fit an open air-filter directly on the AMM to increase the flow. Doing this will get you a lot of more air.

But.. there's always a but. In some applications this solution can actually be worse than the stock "air can". Why? The lack of cold air! that is. If you got the stock IC mounted, the airflow to the air filter is hindered and the air will be heated by the engine.

What you could do is to take up a hole in the side wall of the engine room and put the air filter behind the turn signal housing.

But, some of us aren't that happy of putting a saw into the car so here's another alternative.

The Solution if you got a FMIC mounted:

Get a PVC drainpipe about 75mm (3 inches) in diameter and 250mm (10 inches) in length. Then get a corresponding 60 degree bend. Get two clamps that fits the pipe.

Remove the complete air can and tubing.

Drill a 75mm hole in the front of the air can opposite of the stock intake hole, the upper part of the hole should be aprox 50mm (2 inches) from the upper rim.

Mount the bend, attach the clamp on the bend inside the Air can. This is done to stop the bend from sliding out.

Slide in the tube in the bend.

Now just mount everything (this is tricky), try to get the pipe to end below the bumper.

Attach the filter, and every hose.

Done!
